Newborn Check Ups at Pimri Pediatrics

Newborn Check Ups

Having a newborn baby is supposed to be a happy and enjoyable experience, yet sometimes the transition into parenthood can feel overwhelming. At Pimri Pediatrics, we understand the challenges new parents face. Questions, worries, and uncertainty are common — especially when it comes to knowing what is normal.

That’s why we take a holistic approach to newborn care, focusing not only on your baby’s physical health but also on supporting parents with guidance, education, and reassurance.

What is the difference between spit-up and vomiting?
?
What is the difference between constipation and normal bowel movement frequency?
?
Is my baby having a reaction to milk or formula?
?
Does my baby need to drink water when it is hot outside?
?
How do I know my baby is developing normally?
💚 A Comfortable First Visit Experience
Because parents often have many questions and concerns, we schedule 60 minutes for the first newborn visit. Many times, reassurance and education are all that is needed to confirm your baby is developing normally and there are no major medical concerns.

Well Baby Check-Up Schedule

The typical well baby check-up schedule during the first year includes eight important visits. These appointments allow our team to closely monitor your baby's growth, development, and overall health.

1
3–5 days after discharge
2
2 weeks old
3
1 month old
4
2 months old
5
4 months old
6
6 months old
7
9 months old
8
12 months old

These visits are essential because developmental milestones are reviewed to ensure your baby is growing and developing normally. At every visit, your baby’s weight, length, and head circumference are measured to confirm healthy growth and adequate nutrition.

If concerns are identified, additional testing may be recommended or your family may be referred to the Arizona Early Intervention Program (AzEIP) for additional support.

💚 Supporting Every Baby’s Unique Journey
For mothers who choose to breastfeed, we can provide support through lactation consultant referrals and recommendations that may help support milk supply and breast health.
