Botox or Xenomin
Botox, short for Botulinum toxin, is a neurotoxic protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium Botulinum. It is used for various medical and cosmetic purposes. In cosmetic applications, Botox is primarily known for its ability to temporarily reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles by paralyzing underlying muscles.
What is Botox?
Mechanism of Action:
Botox works by blocking nerve signals in the muscles where it is injected. This causes temporary muscle paralysis, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
Common Uses:
- Cosmetic: Treatment of facial wrinkles, frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines.
- Medical: Management of certain medical conditions such as migraines, muscle spasms, and excessive sweating.
Lip Filler and Dermal Filler
Hyaluronic acid is a substance that your body produces naturally and the main ingredient in dermal fillers including lip filler. Dermal filler has a higher viscosity than lip filler which is thinner with a lower viscosity. Brands include Juvederm, Restylane and Bolero which is used in the cheeks, marionette lines and other areas on the face to replace volume and to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Lip Filler is also composed of HA is also used to give volume to the lips and definition to the lip borders and cupids bow. Brands include Revanesse Versa , Resilient Hyaluronic Acid (RHA) , Juvéderm Ultra and Juvéderm Volbella. Filler can last up to 2 years or more.
