OnabotulinumtoxinA (neurotoxin) prevents the firing of acetylcholine, disrupting nerve signals that tell muscles to contract. This leads to the relaxation/paralysis of the muscles creating a smoother and softer appearance and prevents new fine lines from forming. Your expert at TRUVIVE will assess your areas of concern and determine the right treatment plan for you.
Your injector will discuss your candidacy at the time of your appointment. On the other hand, most people and skin types are good candidates for Botox injections.
Depending on the brand of neurotoxin, at TRUVIVE we use Botox, but results will be seen anywhere from a few days up to two weeks. Neurotoxins can last anywhere from three to six months. When you notice facial movements returning in the treatment areas, you can receive a second treatment to maintain results.
No, Botox injections are a non-invasive way to diminish the appearance of lines and wrinkles. It is recommended not to lie flat for four hours after treatment and avoid massaging the treatment area. The treatment area may be slightly tender, and some light bruising can form where the neurotoxin was injected. Bruising usually resolves within a few days.

Result time varies by treatment area, though most patients report visible improvements after two to four weeks. Results will continue to develop anywhere from six to nine months after treatment.
